![]() It would not go down well with many pure audio guys, or mid people with their own preference. It would also mean you could "upgrade" your patches to new versions just by re-downloading the files.Ī powerful multi sampler would be a huge distraction in further development, an done that would justify a price increase. To take it a step further, you could support loading patches from a url, whose sample files are also specified with urls (which are then downloaded and cached locally on your machine), allowing people to very quickly try out patches shared on the forums. ![]() I also would like to see it support compressed sample formats like ogg, and flac. Having a text file format for the patches would also allow people to write converters from other popular sample formats such as soundfonts. That alone would give it a strong competitive edge on just about any sampler out there, and be immensely powerful, allowing complete freedom to patch creators. They could then plug in the js engine allowing custom js effects to be saved as part of patches. In particular, I would like to see Cockos follow the sfz approach of allowing you to fully specify a patch in text file format. ![]() I think it would be great to have a more fully featured multisampler bundled with REAPER.
